DIRECTOR’S Statement

Born in 1980 in the south of Iran, Mahmoud Rahmani made his first short film, “Gagola,” in 2003. He holds an honorary degree from DEFC’s workshop and currently teaches filmmaking in schools. In 2005, he directed his first documentary, “Naft Sepid,” which participated in various film festivals such as IDFA, Cinema du Reel, etc. His documentaries, “Zero Degree Orbit,” “Molf-e Gand,” and “My Mother, Oak,” have received more than 15 prizes at both national and international levels. In 2016, he directed “Passengers,” a project he had been working on for three years. His latest film is a short fiction titled “Aghanoo.”
